As you may knwow the Caves and Cliffs update was separeted into 1.17 and 1.18 update because they too many ideas for this update and they didn’t have time to implement all of the ideas in just one year. And if you entered the 1.17 version and you think there is a big change just wait until you see the new 1.18 update. Since we are all excited to see what is new i’ll just get straight into it.
The bundle is a leather bag where you can store multiple items and just occupy 1 space in the inventory.
These are very good because you can now have a better inventory management way before getting to the end and getting shulker boxes which is quite hard in some situations because they give you levitation and it’s hard to control where you are going.
The second benefit of having this bundle bag is that you don’t have to place it down to be able to access it. However you will need to hunt quite a lot of rabbits.
These noise caves are most of what we’ve been wanting since 1.8 and i’ts finally here. You have two of these types of caves, cheese and spaghetti. The cheese cave is a giant open cave and has many stone pillars.
The spaghetti caves are long and narrow caves that loook like caves from now but now they can be super narrow wher you have to dig to go through them. These caves can contain an abundance of ores in them as well as aquifiers and some of them can even be flooded. These will be the main type of caves below the Y-level 0.
These types of caves are a bit more rare than the normal caves. The very cool aspect of these caves is that they are infused with nature and are very green and plant rich. To get to this type of cave you could just travel in caves and have a chance to find a Lush cave.
Or you can go on the ground above the caves and find an azalea tree. Under the azalea tree there can be a Lush Cave. The Lush Cave contains: Azalea Plants (flowering and non-flowering forms), Spore Blossoms, Moss, Vines that can have orange berries in them which will also give light so I suggest you don’t take them.
You can also find a Dripleaf plant which can be found in the clay pools and if you stand on them for more than one second you will fall through them. This won´t cause permanent damage to the plant since it recovers after some time. You can only plant this Dripleaf underwater on a dirt or clay block. You can make some pretty cool obstacle course with this plant and even traps.
Now there can be some mini-biome at the end of a normal biome so some biome-specific mobs are able to spawn in these mini biomes. For example, rabbits can now spawn on the beaches. Also mobs will only spawn at light level 0, this means that it has to be complete darkness for a mob to spawn. However, there is an experimental snapshot to test if mobs spawn at light level 11 to make it harder. This is not concluve since it’s in the testing phase.
There is not too much to say about these since it´s just an open cave with a lot of stalagmites and stalagmites. These have very good use if you don´t want to go to caves to get a lot of lava since you can make a renewable lava source. The only downside of this is that you will have to wait quite a while to get lava so you might want to consider setting more of these up so it will be faster. Also in this type of cave you can find more copper than usual so if you need a lot of copper for a build I suggest getting here.
Things not coming in 1.18
Microsoft announced that the deep dark biome and the warden along with the wireless redstone blocks will come in the 1.19 update not the 1.18. Also the archeology sites are not coming in the 1.18 but coming a bit after, this means that it may be in an update in the 1.18 version. This was one of the best thing added in this update but it will come after the update.
